Recreation in Philadelphia

Boating - The Delaware river runs along the eastern edge of Philadelphia . There are number of marinas in the area . Voters can go as far north as the falls at Trenton . If they proceed south they will come to Delaware bay and the Atlantic ocean . There are very few riverfront establishments that cater to boaters from Philadelphia northward . Boaters need to be aware of the fact that they are sharing the river with large commercial vessels .

This Schuylkill river runs west from the Delaware river . This is restricted primarily to one powered vessels especially up river from the water works

Fishing - Licenses are required for fishing . Some of the creeks provide fishing opportunities including those within Fairmont and Pennypack Parks as well as other creeks and streams in the city.

Golf - There are six public eighteen hole courses run by the city of Philadelphia .

• Cobb’s Creek Golf Club (Olde and Karakung) – 7200 Lansdowne avenue
• John E. Byrne Golf Club . In northeast Philadelphia . 9500 Leon street
• Juniata Golf Course – 1391 Cayuga street
• Franklin D. Roosevelt Golf Club – South Philadelphia – twentieth and spell it Pattison Avenue .
• Walnut Lane Walnut Lane & Magdalona Streets
• 33rd Street Driving Range - East Park Near 33rd Street and Reservoir Drive
• Sports Center 7900 City Avenue - Driving Range, Mini Golf, Baseball Cages and more
