Philadelphia has some great parks for a wide variety of activities including walking, hiking, horseback riding and more. The Fairmount park system encompasses most of the Parks in Philadelphia.   There are a number of historic sites and buildings within the system.  For more information visit the Fairmount park system web site  

 

Fluehr Park - Located off Grant Avenue in northeast Philadelphia .  In addition to the recreational facilities , there is a wonderful old chapel that is in the early stages of deterioration . 

Penns Landing - This park is home to some interesting historical data bits and the maritime museum as well as a location for many summertime events .
